Large Irish companies will have seen a reduction of 9% to 18% in their energy costs, this year, a result of a near 30% drop in wholesale gas prices.

Wholesale gas and electricity prices rose last month but still remain well below prices for the same period last year.

Bord na Móna has signed a €50m deal to supply renewable electricity to Irish energy supplier Vayu who will sell the electricity on to its business customers.
