President Michael D Higgins has received the Freedom of Cork City.

Retired Archbishop of Armagh Robin Eames is to be presented with the Tipperary International Peace Award next week, it was revealed today.

Mary Robinson has been chosen to receive UNESCO’s prestigious Felix Houphouet-Boigny peace prize for work in human rights.
