Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is disappointed the IRA has withdrawn its plan to put weapons beyond use.

Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble says republicans could still save the peace process if they begin to decommission their weapons.

The loyalist Progressive Unionist Party today accused the British Government of discriminating against it after being refused compensation for damage to its Shankill Road offices during the loyalist feud in Belfast last year.
