The Tourism and Culture Minister Mary Hanafin has said she did not vote for Brian Cowen in last night's confidence motion.

The Taoiseach and the Foreign Affairs Minister are expected to spend today canvassing support ahead of tomorrow's Fianna Fáil vote of confidence in Brian Cowen.

The Indian federal government has ordered a state-run company building a tourist complex near the Taj Mahal to stop work because the project violates laws protecting the 17th century monument, reports said today.
