New starting procedures are being introduced by the Jockey Club in a bid to improve the behaviour of horses for stalls entry.

Some progress appears to have been made today in the controversy surrounding the new Steriline starting stalls which are in use at 17 of Britain’s 35 racecourses.

Sandown Park’s two-day meeting later this week will be the first at which a new device is used to assess the official going at a racecourse.
