A confession made by a Co Galway man convicted of the murder of an elderly woman over 25 years ago was the work of more than one person, a scientist told the Court of Criminal Appeal today.

The High Court has ordered the release of a Dublin man, charged in connection of an attempted robbery of a cash transit van in Co Kildare last November, after finding that his detention is unlawful.
