A new junior girls high jump record and a number of impressive doubles were the highlights of the first day of the South Munster Schools Track & Field, which took place in glorious sunshine at Cork IT.

Reigning Munster and Irish Schools senior cross-country champion Kevin Mulcaire eased his way to a comfortable victory at the GloHealth Munster Schools which took place over a demanding course at Tramore Valley Park on the Kinsale Road.
