STRADBALLY remain in the hunt to retain their Waterford SFC title but only after a dramatic finish to Saturday’s semi-final at Dungarvan’s Fraher Field.

IT MAY not have quite measured up to their classic drawn game at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, but Waterford and Cork still served up another compelling hour’s hurling in an action-packed Munster minor hurling championship semi-final replay before 4,000 at Walsh Park last night.

ARDMORE’S six-year tenure in the top flight of Waterford hurling may be about to end after defeat to Stradbally in a thrilling relegation play off at Fraher Field, Dungarvan, on Saturday. The seasiders now face Mount Sion, with the losers set for the intermediate grade in 2009.
