A small East Cork village was overrun by drunken teens who arrived in throngs on Saturday night after a house party was advertised on the internet via social media websites.

Gardaí were involved in a near four-hour standoff with a man armed with a knife who barricaded himself into a bedroom in an apartment in a Co Cork town.
