An inquiry into the Irish Nationwide Building Society (INBS) is underway.

The jury has been sworn in for the trial of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick, who is accused of failing to disclose the true value of multi-million euro loans to the bank’s auditors.

Four former directors of Irish Nationwide Building Society are seeking a large number of documents for their defence of legal proceedings in which they are being sued for tens of millions of euro due to the “catastrophic losses” suffered by the society.

Former Irish Nationwide boss Michael Fingleton is facing court proceedings to have the €1m bonus he received in 2009 taken off him.

A civil action is being taken against former chief executive of the Irish Nationwide Building Society, Michael Fingleton.
