A post mortem examination is taking place this afternoon on the body of a 51-year-old man who died as a result of an assault in Waterford City at the weekend.

A 51-year-old man who suffered serious head injuries in an assault in Waterford over the weekend has lost his fight for life at Cork University Hospital.
