A US judge declared a mistrial at the racketeering trial of John “Junior” Gotti after a New York jury failed to reach a verdict against the son of the notorious Gambino crime family mob boss – the case’s fourth hung jury in five years.

For the third time in the past 12 months, a judge declared a mistrial today in the racketeering trial of former mob boss John A Junior Gotti.

John Gotti, the son of a New York crime boss, has been charged with multiple offences including the attempted murder of Curtis Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels.
