LIMERICK’s designation as the country’s first National City of Culture in 2014 will see it host over 200 performances and exhibitions, spanning all arts forms.

The recently launched Limerick Arts Encounter is an initiative aimed at enabling the city’s arts practitioners to deliver a varied programme with funding from the Arts Council.

LIMERICK’S galleries, theatres and castles will host free cultural events on September 19 which has been designated Culture Night in the city.

THE witty ditty known worldwide as the Limerick has been banished from a poetry festival launched yesterday in the city that gave the famous poem its name.
