Fianna Fáil TDs and Senators meet today to decide whether to nominate external candidates to enter the presidential race.

Fianna Fáil Senator Labhras O'Murchu has said he is confident that he has strong support to run as an Independent candidate for the Aras.

Fianna Fáil is to decide on Tuesday whether individual TDs and Senators will be allowed a free vote to back a presidential candidate of their choice.
