A mother-of-three has been jailed for 14 years for beating up a "Sugar Daddy" pensioner with a Canals of England picture and torturing him with a hot iron.

The Government is being urged to draw up a separate road safety strategy for Co Donegal after crashes in the county claimed six young lives this weekend.

Five young people who died in a two-car collision in Co Donegal early today were tonight named by gardaí.
