In just a few short years, Kerry-based band Walking on Cars has catapulted to fame. Through a combination of hard work and perseverance, the alt-rockers have gone from gigging in shabby back rooms to serenading some of the country’s biggest venues.

The school’s first green flag was awarded for work on reducing litter and waste.

Irish children’s mission to make the world greener and cleaner saved 1.35m kilometres of school trips last year under just one part of the expanding Green Schools programme.

The stars will be out tonight for the British Soap Awards.
