Supergrass shocked fans by announcing they were disbanding out of the blue last April, and frontman Gaz Coombes has given more insight into the reasons behind the split, revealing it was he who suggested that they part in an email.

The British indie band Supergrass – who had hits in the 90s with feelgood summer singles ‘Alright’, ‘Sun Hits the Sky’ and ‘Pumping On Your Stereo’ – have agreed to part ways after 17 years and six studio albums together.
