The Cheltenham nerves are kicking in now and we’re really just putting the finishing touches to our team for the festival. We haven’t fully decided on the full make-up of that team but Oscars Well and Bostons Angel will definitely be going and I’m happy to report that they are well.

While this is generally a hectic period for racing, if the weather allows it to be, it is also the time of year for awards and I have been fortunate enough to be invited to a number of them in recent weeks.

You hear this said a lot but I have honestly never seen snow as bad this early. It’s frustrating as it impacts on what you can do with the horses and racing is put on hold but it’s the same for everyone.

HORSES can make liars of you at times and it happened to me again during the week, although in this case, I was quite happy about it all.

The good thing about being involved in horse racing is that you don’t get a complex about things going wrong for you. Racing is a great leveller so you’re just used to things not going your way.
