Exactly which of the five stages of grief incorporates buying a zoo isn’t specified in We Bought a Zoo (PG), but the purchase of said zoo is Benjamin Mee’s (Matt Damon) solution to the grief he and his kids are enduring in the wake of his wife’s death.

The nautical heist thriller ‘Contraband’ is a remake of ‘Reykjavik-Rotterdam’, an Icelandic film from 2008 which, admittedly, I've yet to see. Presumably, there must have been something about it that was compelling enough to warrant the effort and expense of an adaptation.

Sometimes – as, most certainly, here – Willis turns up in a right plonker of a film.

A thriller which doesn’t quite manage to turn out as well as its opening promises. It’s clever enough, but so much more might have been made of it.
