On May 7, Cobh and Cork will commemorate the centenary of the sinking of RMS Lusitania, the loss of 1,200 civilians and the support provided by Cork people after the tragedy. 

There are plans to make final diving preparations today to raise the anchors of the Aud, the arms ship scuttled in Cork Harbour on Easter Saturday 1916.
