The University of Ulster is to team up with a Chinese counterpart to promote the teaching of Mandarin in schools in the North, it has emerged.

THE Government must act to redress the shortage of qualified interpreters which is reducing the quality of services available to immigrants in courts and hospitals, academics warned yesterday.
