A former Galway hurling star who is wanted in Britain in connection with an alleged egg fraud has consented to his extradition to the United Kingdom.

The High Court has set a date for the hearing of an extradition to the UK of a former Galway hurling star wanted on fraud charges.

Conor Hayes has stayed faithful to the Galway senior hurlers by agreeing to remain on as their manager for the 2006 season.

Former Tribesman hurling star Joe Cooney is set to join Conor Hayes' backroom management team.
