South Africa clinched their first IRB Sevens World Series title on day one of the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens at Murrayfield.

New Zealand gained revenge for their Dubai Sevens loss last week when they defeated South Africa in front of their home crowd 24-17 in a pulsating Emirates Airline George Sevens final at Outeniqua Park.

South Africa Sevens coach Paul Treu has announced their 15-man squad for the IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens 2005 to be played in Hong Kong from 18-20.

New Zealand demolished South Africa 54-14 in the cup final of the London leg of the IRB World Sevens Series.
