Mr Justice Peter Kelly said he hoped the young man’s progress will “give hope” to all those dealing with anorexia, especially serious anorexia.

A young woman who has not eaten for a week and who has a long history of anorexia nervosa, psychiatric illness and depression is to be detained in hospital and tube fed as a result of High Court orders.
