PUPILS at a Dublin school have saved their lunch catering company on the double and earned a national award for their efforts.

TRAVEL outside any Irish town, on a Monday morning, for about just as long as it takes to eat a carton of chips and you’re almost certain to find packaging strewn around the roadside.

NATIONAL Spring Clean, Ireland’s largest anti-litter campaign, is scheduled to run throughout April. It is run by An Taisce in conjunction with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

CONSIDERING that chewing gum is responsible for much of our litter, it is appropriate that the makers of Wrigleys should dig deep to help keep our streets clean.

IN excess of 11,000 tonnes of litter is the target for this year’s National Spring Clean.

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to give Ireland a spring clean.
