MORE than two centuries of direct involvement by the Christian Brothers in Irish education has ended with the handing over of its 96 schools to a lay trust.

THE Christian Brothers yesterday announced its 206-year involvement in the education system will come to an end in September.

ANOTHER resignation has been handed in at the troubled teacher training college at Marino Institute of Education (MIE) in Dublin.

CLAIMS that staff have resigned in protest at alleged bullying at the Marino Institute of Education (MIE) teacher training college in Dublin have been rejected by the interim director.
