EVERY election candidate is being targeted in a new campaign to reduce the number of women dying needlessly every year from cervical cancer.

Election candidates were today called on to save women’s lives and beat cervical cancer.

ONE-IN-FOUR Irish women, quite wrongly, believe cervical cancer cannot be prevented, a new study has found.

Only 5% of Irish women are aware of the virus that causes cervical cancer, despite the fact four out of five women will catch it at some point in their lives, it was revealed today.
