Reigning Cork U21 football champions Nemo Rangers got their city championship campaign off to a winning start as they defeated St Finbarr’s 0-8 to 0-5 at Ballinlough yesterday.

They have lived in the shadows of other Kerry football schools in previous seasons, but yesterday was a golden afternoon for Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne as they claimed their first Corn Uí Mhuirí title.

FOR the third time in seven years, De La Salle (Macroom) will participate in the marquee day in Munster Colleges football after staving off Coláiste Chríost Rí in an absorbing Corn Uí Mhuirí semi-final in Cloughduv on Saturday.

GREATER scoring power helped Macroom’s De La Salle past St Fachtna’s De La Salle of Skibbereen and into the semi-final of the Corn Uí Mhuirí at Ballineen yesterday.
