The 60th annual Cork International Choral Festival took place at the weekend, with approximately 5,000 participants — the largest number it has ever had. Here are the results.

THEY hailed it as a toast to Arthur but for many midday imbibers it meant a toast to sobriety as pubs around the country closed for an hour yesterday afternoon to prepare for a ticket-only invite to a party celebrating the life of Arthur Guinness.

THE Cork International Choral Festival, now in its 54th year, saw 85 choirs from throughout Ireland competing in the national competitions and international choirs competing for the prestigious Fleischmann International Trophy over the weekend.
