FOR the second league game in succession, Cork City ended up with 10 men and no points, despite a stirring comeback from two-down against St Patrick’s Athletic in Inchicore last night.

DESPITE giving an admirable account of themselves, Shelbourne, the former giants of Irish football, couldn’t turn giant killers at Tolka Park, as a first half Roy O’Donovan penalty was enough to see Cork City through to the next round of the FAI Ford Cup.

CORK City will be kicking themselves for somehow failing to find the net in this Setanta Cup semi-final as Linfield made one of their few chances count to set up a final against Drogheda in Windsor Park on May 12.
