New technology is to be introduced in Irish cinemas which will lead to sharper images and a greater variety of films, it was claimed today.

A host of Irish films and actors are expected to shine at this year’s prestigious Berlin International Film Festival.

The latest shorts commissioned under the OSCAILT short film scheme, jointly funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and TG4, will premiere at the Cork Film Festival on Saturday.
