BRITAIN’S police watchdog has formally launched an investigation into the death of a Cork-based man during a police chase due to potential concerns over whether “the actions of officers were appropriate”.

THE death of a Cork-based 20-year-old who was hit by a train in London after fleeing police has been referred to Britain’s independent police watchdog.

A 20-year-old man who died when he was struck by a train as he attempted to evade police was named by Scotland Yard today.
