Cork boxer Mike ‘The Rebel’ Perez has opened up about his agonising few months following his defeat of Magomed Abdusalamov in November which left the Russian in a critical condition in hospital.

Cork-based Cuban heavyweight Mike ‘The Rebel’ Perez secured a major scalp on Saturday night when overcoming the previously undefeated Russian Magomed Abdusalamov at Madison Square Garden.

Undefeated ex-prizefighter champion Mike ‘The Rebel’ Perez has been forced to withdraw from next weekend’s acid test against former world title holder Ruslan Chagaev in Germany after injuring his shoulder, according to promoter Felix Sturm.

MIKE ‘The Rebel’ Perez, a former world junior champion, will headline the most exciting professional boxing show ever staged in Cork where he will be joined by two other Cuban-born world junior champions on another Nowhere to Hyde bill at Neptune Stadium on September 13.
