Britain’s foreign secretary William Hague said the “right decision” had been reached after European Union foreign ministers agreed to end the embargo on supplying arms to opposition forces in Syria.

The European Union nations remain divided on whether to ease sanctions against Syria to allow for weapons shipments to rebels fighting the regime of Syria’s president Bashar Assad.

Austria is calling for a mechanism to kick countries out of the eurozone if they fail to meet their economic commitments.
