WELSHMAN Stephen Shurrock has been appointed chief executive of O2 Ireland, taking over from Danuta Gray who has announced her resignation after nine years in the post.

The owner of electricals chain Currys today confirmed the sale of its 60% stake in struggling chain The Link to mobile phone firm O2 for £30m (€44m).
