Two years ago Wicklow’s minor footballers secured a famous win over Dublin in the Leinster championship, so a large crowd made their way to Joule Park in Aughrim on Saturday, hoping for a repeat in the first round of this year’s Eirgrid Leinster U20 football campaign.

Dublin, Meath, Westmeath and Wicklow all secured their place in the knockout stages of the Leinster minor football championship last night, joining Kildare who wrapped up a semi-final spot with their win over Kilkenny on Tuesday evening in Nowlan Park.

Meath registered their second successive victory in the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship following their Group 1 1-13 to 2-8 win over Dublin at Páirc Tailteann last night.
