The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) has given a qualified welcome to today’s High Court judgment in the 'Mr G' case, which recognised that an unmarried father has inherent rights in relation to his children.

The High Court will today hear one of the most important family law cases to come before the courts in recent years.

A CASE taken by an unmarried father and due for hearing in the High Court soon could have huge political and legal ramifications for the rights of unmarried fathers in this country.
