A MAN who gave up his job to care for his elderly mother dashed into a blazing bedroom to try and save her, a Limerick inquest heard yesterday.

The 300 workers at Bupa Ireland’s base in Fermoy, Cork today pleaded with the Minister for Health, Mary Harney, to safeguard their jobs.

THE determination of BUPA and the Government not to back down over risk equalisation does little to hide the fact that 300 people face into this Christmas with the knowledge their job, their livelihoods, hang in the balance.
