All five Irish boxers have made this mornings weigh-in for this afternoons European Union Championships finals at the National Stadium in Dublin.

EXCITING semi-final victories for Carl Frampton, Roy Sheahan, Darren Sutherland, a thrilling comeback for Cathal McMonagle and a walk-over for Kenneth Egan means that Ireland will have five finalists at the European Union boxing championships at the National Stadium this afternoon giving Ireland more finalists than any other nation in the tournament.

Irish captain Ken Egan is through to the European Union Championships light heavyweight final after his opponent pulled out because of injury.

IRELAND brought out the heavy artillery at the National Stadium yesterday to bring their medal total at the European Union Senior Boxing Championships to five, with Roy Sheahan, Darren Sutherland, captain Kenneth Egan and then, in a sensational super-heavyweight contest, Cathal McGonagle, all winning their quarter-finals to secure bronze medals.

In boxing, Irish welterweight Roy Sheahan,middleweight Darren Sutherland,light heavyweight Ken Egan, and super heavyweight Cathal McMonagle are guaranteed at least bronze medals at the European Union Championships following impressive quarter final victories at the National Stadium in Dublin today and tonight.
