A Russian court has sentenced two men to life in prison and three others to terms ranging from 12 to 20 years for the 2006 killing of renowned journalist Anna Politkovskaya.

Russian investigators have marked the fifth anniversary of journalist Anna Politkovskaya’s murder by filing new charges against suspects involved in the killing, but have remained silent about who might have ordered her murder.

A JURY acquitted three men yesterday of playing minor roles in the murder of an investigative journalist whose killing underlined the risks that Kremlin critics can face in Russia. The main suspects in the case remained at large.
