Ireland is in for a "mixed bag" of weather over the August bank holiday weekend, which is set to include some sun, lots of rain, and very windy conditions.

Hang in there sun-lovers — a sunny Monday is expected after what might be a washout start to the bank holiday weekend, particularly in the east.

May bank holiday weather will be a mixed bag so pack the sun cream, brolly and jumper when out and about.

THERE is to be a respite, albeit temporary, from the wet and cold weather experienced by much of the country recently with temperatures likely to peak at 25C in the coming days.
