Hollywood star George Clooney’s rumoured visit to Ireland has sparked a surge in searches for tourist accommodation in Dublin and Kilkenny, according to a hotels website.

The Irish Hotels Federation yesterday rejected the findings of a study on the sector which claimed prices increased by 10% in the first six months of the year.
