Kerry Airport yesterday welcomed a commitment from Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe to support the retention of subsidised flights on the Kerry to Dublin route.

State funding for daily flights between Kerry and Dublin, which had been due to end in November, will continue until February 2015.

The future of daily flights from Kerry Airport on the Kerry/Dublin route depends on the continuation of a strong government subsidy.

Fáilte Ireland will shortly decide on a submission seeking its support for a €5m cultural and sports heritage project in Kerry.
