SIPTU members employed at Newmarket Co-op in north Cork are seeking an urgent meeting with the Kerry Group, which is set to acquire the company for €33 million.

TRADE union SIPTU has suggested that the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) carry out an audit of service provision in Cork University Hospital (CUH) due to overcrowding.

SIPTU's Mallow Branch Official, Liam Allen has said that seven SIPTU members employed at the Charleville & District Association for the Handicapped, Charleville, Co. Cork will begin industrial action on Monday, November 24, 2003, in pursuit of improved pay and conditions.
