The wife of Limerick billionaire JP McManus has bagged €35,000 in race winnings, after a greyhound which had beaten her dog to second place in the Irish coursing Derby tested positive for doping.

A dog run by the family of a former chief executive of the Irish Greyhound Board tested positive for two banned substances after its win at the Coursing Derby.

The surprises continued unabated at the National Coursing meeting at Clonmel yesterday, another host of them to add to the first day tally.
