One of the last credible witnesses of the War of Independence has died.

A Dublin man who shot his friend with both barrels of a sawn off shotgun and then threw him from his car was jailed for 12 years today.

A GARDA and two innocent civilians were lucky to escape with their lives yesterday after they were caught up in a feud between two families.
