A businessman who defrauded a local authority of a six-figure sum in a parking disc and bin tags’ scam is still living a lavish lifestyle.

A 40 year old man who stole more than €123,000 from Cork City Council in a scam involving the sale of parking discs and bin tags has been jailed for three years.

Luxury cars, including two Porches and one Mercedes, were found outside the home of a man who stole over €123,000 from Cork City Council in a scam involving the sale of parking discs and bin tags to shops.

A Cork man has been charged with 48 offences of fraud which amounted to a total of over €142,000.
