Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has told the Dáil that the next report from Justice Henry Barron into loyalist atrocities in the Republic in the early 1970s will be published in June.

FAMILIES of those killed and injured in the Dublin and Monaghan bombings have called on the Government to press for a full-scale international inquiry into the atrocity.

THE British establishment has an obligation to the people of Ireland “to come clean”, a campaign group representing many of the survivors and victims’ families said last night.

The long-awaited Barron report into terrorist bombings in Dublin and the border town of Monaghan on the same night almost 30 years ago was due to be published today.

A full judicial inquiry, complete with the co-operation of the British government, is the only way the real truth will be revealed behind the 1974 terrorist bombings in Dublin and Monaghan, campaigners said today.
