Kenyan rescuers and soldiers cut through layers of concrete slab early today to free an unknown number of construction workers still trapped after a building collapsed in central Nairobi, killing at least 11 and injuring dozens.

A five-storey building collapsed in central Nairobi today with more than 280 construction workers inside, killing at least seven people and injuring more than 70, witnesses and officials said.
