A PILOT who had previously flown the plane which crashed in Cork Airport earlier this year with the loss of six lives, hanged himself because he believed the crash could have been averted if he had been at the controls.

THE family of the Spanish pilot who died in the crash are due to arrive in Cork today to formally identify his remains.

THE pilots of the aircraft that crash-landed at Cork Airport yesterday, claiming their lives and those of four passengers, have been strongly defended by the chairman of the airline.
